Understand human laryngeal functions and their purpose in both autonomy and communication; observe the imbrication between vocology, deglutology and oromyology. Know how to describe and investigate the main etiopathogenetic categories of dysphonia in the context of a clinical case. Know how to explain the main problems in the functional evaluation of the voice and consequently know how to explain the reason for choosing the most appropriate evaluation tool for the case. Understand and know how to explain the configuration that links the etiopathogenesis of the disease to the resulting glottic structure. Know how to explain the rationale through which, from a given pathological glottic structure it is possible to move to a more physiological or in any case conservative glottic structure.
Course Prerequisites
Anatomy of the pneumo-phono-articulatory system. Fundamentals of laryngology, with particular reference to the categories of laryngeal pathologies and their inspection characteristics as visible in endoscopy. Physiology of ventilation.
Teaching Methods
Lectures. Presentation of clinical cases with plenary discussion.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam consisting of two open questions with a scale of 0-30. The result is communicated at the end of the oral examination of the individual candidate.
