The main aim of this course is to provide knowledge about basical psychological principles and methodological instruments that can be useful in the professional daily experience of the healthcare worker. A specific focus will be on psychological dynamics involved in helping relationship, on the recognition of mental distress and on the psychological well-being of the worker. At the end of the course, the student is expected to have acquired a personal conceptual background of theoretical / methodological knowledge in the psychological field as well as to have developed critical thinking.

Teaching Methods
The course takes place through lectures and practical exercises. Power Point presentations are used for lectures, made available to students in the section dedicated to teaching on the KIRO moodle platform. For the exercises, the active participation of students in the analysis and discussion of the materials made available by the teacher in class is solicited.
Assessment Methods
Learning is verified through an individual oral test. The evaluation of the test is carried out out of thirty. The content includes both slides and materials (scientific articles) suggested during the course. The exam assesses how the student has integrated the knowledge acquired during the lectures and exercises and the level of achievement of the training objectives of the course. The final evaluation takes into account the degree of depth and understanding of the topics presented, the use of an appropriate scientific language and the ability to think critically.

Materials provided by the teacher (slides, scientific articles) and made available on the KIRO platform. Any reference texts will be communicated to students at the beginning of the course.
