The course will introduce: 1. the principles of objective measurements in biomedicine, in particular those related to motor ability assessment; 2. the principles of prevention of electrical accidents due to the use of electromedicals.

1. Measurement principles: units and the International System; measurement error and its propagation. Measurement chain and its static and dynamic characterization. Analog-to-Digital conversion and computer data acquisition. 2. Electrical safety in the clinical environment - Electrocution, physiological effects of electric current, macro- and micro-shock. Safety of electromedicals. Electrical safety of power distribution system in a hospital.
