Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course introduces the main models of Work Psychology applied to healthcare settings, with particular attention to the psychological implications of the physiotherapist’s professional activity. It fosters a critical understanding of the relationship between individuals, work, and organizations, with specific reference to rehabilitation teams.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Know and understand the main models related to motivation, well-being, and psychosocial risks, interpreting professional and organisational dynamics typical of healthcare services.

Apply concepts and tools from Work Psychology to the analysis of operational and relational situations that characterise teamwork in healthcare settings.

Critically analyse emerging organisational and relational issues in rehabilitation services, formulating independent and well-grounded evaluations.

Use effective communication strategies in interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, adapting them to different situations and care objectives.

Adopt a reflective approach aimed at the continuous improvement of professional practice and personal well-being in the workplace.

Course Prerequisites

No specific prerequisites are needed in order to attend this course and to undergo the final test.

Teaching Methods

The course takes place through in-person lessons.
It is expected:
- Teaching in DE delivery mode, i.e frontal teaching (content presentation via slides and videos)
- Interactive teaching - DI (guided exercises, small group work between peers, role-play, case studies, critical discussion in a small group on topics provided by the teacher).

Assessment Methods

Students learning assessment consists of a written examination with open-ended questions.
