In the context of the evidence-based practice, all health professionals are called upon to actively collaborate in various activities: from critical analysis to the use of the best scientific evidence, from collecting and analyzing clinical data related to their own professional activities to sharing them with other professionals for benchmarking activities. All these activities require notions of medical statistics that allow: - greater competence in the study and verification of the methodologies used in the evidence published in the literature; - ability to understand statistical strategies and tools used in a scientific article; - ability to create databases aimed at data collection and statistical analysis; - reporting of clinical data (tables and graphs) to share the evidence obtained with their colleagues; - ability to share reports and evidence with colleagues from different territorial and cultural backgrounds in order to create multicenter research platforms. By the end of the course, the student should have learned the elements of performing inferential statistical analysis and correctly interpreting the results of statistical analyses.
