At the end of the course the radiology technician student will be able to understand how to orient and set up the appropriate protocols for most joints as well as communicate with the patient in relation to correct positioning and behavior during the exam. They will also be able to interface with the radiologist to prepare study protocols aimed at particular needs. They will also be able to learn how to solve the main problems and artefacts in the musculoskeletal field and learn new techniques (e.g. whole body imaging).
Course Prerequisites
Prerequisites are knowledge of the physical basis of MRI and of the sequences commonly used in the clinical setting for the morphological study (in particular TSE, FSE, SSFP) and for the functional study (in particular diffusion-weighted imaging)
Teaching Methods
The lessons are held as frontal lessons with discussion of exams and of protocols, quality and technical characteristics of the sequences performed.
Assessment Methods
Learning goal are verified through an oral exam. The results are uploaded to the esse3 platform for approval or rejection by the student according to the usual methodology.
