The course aims to critically explore the transformations taking place in the field of publishing and communication, in the age of Generative Artificial Intelligence. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we will analyze the implications that new text production technologies – from publishing automation to hybrid collaborative platforms – have on the concepts of truth, verisimilitude, and perceived reality. We will start from the current definition of true-false, believable-not-believable, effective-not-effective, and then turn to the definition of the criteria of factuality and authoritativeness in editorial products, between excesses of reality, manipulations, rhetorical effects and new standards of trustworthiness. The course is designed as a seminar and research course, aimed at developing in students critical capacity, theoretical awareness and skills in the analysis of contemporary publishing processes. Teaching activities include lectures, case studies, experimental writing workshops and talks with experts.
