Discussion of the main problems of bioethics and applied ethics, starting from the problems of the beginning of human life to the issues regarding biotechnologies and the end of life.
Course Prerequisites
Students need to have attended the course of Bioethics
Teaching Methods
Frontal lectures, held in the room by the professor, along with the seminar work carried out by the students
Assessment Methods
The exam consists of an interview with the professor about the topics and the books indicated in the course syllabus. BES students have appropriate standards.
Texts
Bibliography will be defined during the course. Some of these texts will be: Broome J. (2004), Weighing Lives, Clarendon Press. Gosseries A. (2023), What is Intergenerational Justice?, Polity Press. Non-attending students are required to define the texts with the professor.

Course Title: The Discussion on Symmetry in Reproductive Ethics Programme: Through seminar work on the articles of some of the leading figures in the contemporary debate (Parfit, MacMahan, Broome, etc.), the course aims to analyze some relevant issues related to reproductive ethics, particularly the symmetry regarding our obligations of conceiving a happy child and not conceiving a miserable one.
