Contents
[The proposed course aims to offer a general introduction to Michel Foucault’s thought, focusing in particular on the works of the 1960s: from Folie et déraison (1961) to L’archéologie du savoir (1969), i.e. the decade preceding the philosopher’s teaching at the Collège de France. Beginning with an analysis of the “archaeological” method and the distinction that it draws between the concepts of “savoir” and “connaissance”, the course aims to analyze Foucault’s philosophical approach in the light of the French epistemological tradition and the multiple questions that it addresses concerning the role of philosophical thought in relation to the empirical sciences it deals with.]
