The workshop intends to offer elements for a reading of cinema for the purpose of a qualified approach to the enjoyment and reading of the film product and film language by “new” audiences, understood first and foremost as younger school audiences, with the aim of promoting knowledge of the film image as a useful tool for educational enrichment in a broader sense.
Course Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the history of cinema.
Teaching Methods
Teaching will be organized in introductory lectures, in analysis of case studies conducted by the teacher with the class. On this basis, at a later stage, the laboratory includes, in small groups, the development of in-depth courses on individual films, in order to test the knowledge acquired, verifying the ability to propose an original reading path.

Development of a group project to present a filmic reading to the public, especially young people (single film or small review)

Contents
Preliminary knowledge will be provided about the historical relationship between cinema and school, in a regulatory and practical context, addressing the current landscape through different media. A method of reading the film will be provided in order to be able to convey its linguistic dynamics, formal and content qualities, to encourage an informed vision, developing critical paths aimed particularly at younger people.
