The course provides basic knowledge of strategies for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. As regards the prevention of infectious diseases several aspects will be addressed concerning the vaccine strategies and other preventative measures. The course also provides insights into antibiotic, antiviral, and antifungal therapies, specifically emphasizing the new therapeutic advances. Finally, different strategies will be presented in which resistance emerges by exploiting environmental factors.
