1) To be able to describe the anatomy and physiology of hearing and of the ageing hearing processes 2) Acquire appropriate knowledge of the pathophysiologic basis and diagnostic methods of hearing disorders (conductive and sensorineural hearing loss) 3) To be able to describe the main external, middle and inner ear disorders related to elders 4) Develop appropriate knowledge of the interdisciplinary approach of elders with hearing disorders 5) Acquire appropriate knowledge of the hearing rehabilitation principles with specific concern to biotechnologies.

Lectures accompanied by clinical cases. The course includes the display of technologies employed in hearing rehabilitation
· Anatomy and physiology of the ageing hearing · Clinical and instrumental audiological semeiotics · Classification of hearing disorders in elders ·External, middle and inner ear disorders in elders · Principles of hearing rehabilitation in elders and surgical applications: conventional hearing aids, hearing implantable devices (middle ear implants, bone conduction implants, electric neural stimulation implants)
