The students will learn physiopatology of speech and singing disorders and of swallowing disorders. The different diagnostic methodologies and the role of the speech therapist for the treatment of speech and swallowing disorders will be presented. Particular attention will be paid to the activity of the speech therapist for the rehabilitation of patients submitted to ENT treatments for tumors of the head and neck At the end of the course students will be able to evaluate all the different speech and swallowing disorders and to choose the most appropriate rehabilitation program
Course Prerequisites
Students must already possess knowledge about the anatomophisiology and clinical aspects of phonation and swallowing
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons and practical activities at the ENT Departmentof the Policlinico San Matteo. Lessons will be prepared on ppt files and they will be available of the Kiro platform. Students will be assisted during the practical activities by the speech therapists and otolaryngologists of the ENT Department. Participation to the lessons and practical activities will be monitored
Assessment Methods
Oral examination on the topics presented during the lessons. Students were asked to demonstrate their knowledge and ability to perform the correct diagnostic evaluation and therapeutical choices for the different pathologies. Vote will be in thirtieths
