1) Knowing the role of pathological anatomy within a modern integrated multidisciplinary diagnostic approach 2) Knowing the role and the main diagnostic applications of ancillary techniques, including immunohistochemistry and molecular tests. 3) Knowing the main anatomical-pathological alterations of the organs and systems and their clinical correlations.
Course Prerequisites
Knowledge of the principles of normal human anatomy and general pathology
Teaching Methods
Lectures, presentation of exemplificative cases. Professor is available for clarification on the topics of the program.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam with multiple questions aimed at ascertaining the knowledge acquired on the main anatomo-pathological features of the different pathologies and the ability to critically define the meaning of ancillary and molecular examinations in the diagnostic context. The assessment will also take into account the ability to communicate and use an appropriate scientific language.
Texts
Robbins, Pathological Bases of Diseases.
