The course aims to provide students with the fundamental notions of physiopathology and clinic of diseases of the endocrine system with a perspective based on laboratory diagnostics, analysis and pathological anatomy. Particular attention is paid to the methodological aspects useful for their clinical recognition. The final objective is to provide students with an integrated vision of the instrumental diagnostics of endocrinological diseases. Furthermore, clinical cases of particular interest are presented
Course Prerequisites
No preparatory exams are required. However students must possess or acquire a proper preparation in physiology and pathology
Teaching Methods
The course includes lectures in the classroom and possible interactive teaching activities on request at the Endocrine Disrupting Laboratory of ICS Maugeri. The teacher is available during office hours for clarifications on the topics covered in class.
Assessment Methods
The exam is oral and will focus on the topics covered in class. During the exam, the ability to integrate the knowledge acquired during the course, the achievement of the training objectives of the course and the appropriate technical-scientific language will be assessed.
