Syllabus

Course Objectives

The public information law course intends to reconstruct the physiognomy, guarantees and limits placed on freedom of expression in the internal and supranational system and investigate the rules governing the functioning of the mass media and relations between citizens and public administration. What is expected, in particular, is the acquisition of the ability to understand the extent of freedom of expression in all its manifestations and the related problems.

Teaching Methods

Lectures, supplemented by seminars and laboratory experiences.

Assessment Methods

Written exam (open-ended questions), possibly supplemented by an oral interview. The course program for non-attending students consists of the preparation of the topics contained in the textbook G. Musselli (eds.), Information and media in the digital era, II ed., Milan 2023: https://shop.giuffre.it/024218210-formazione-e-media-nell-era-digitale These are the chapters to prepare: Part I: Chaps. 1-2-3-4-6-7-8; Part II: Chaps. 1-5-6; Part III: Chaps. 1-4-6.
