Syllabus
Course Objectives
To provide the students with a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the physiological mechanisms of body function. The course is organized around the central theme of homeostasis: how the body meets changing demands while maintaining the internal constancy necessary for all cells and organs to function. the course also aims at providing the student the critical and analytic thinking about physiological mechanisms and associated pathologies. Students will therefore acquire the skill of discussing bodily organs functions and the systemic consequences of their functional alterations.
Course Prerequisites
Knowledges of cellular physiology, human anatomy and biology, as for the exams of the first year of course.
Teaching Methods
Lectures.
Practical examinations: none.
Students with specific needs, who cannot attend the course and presented the request for inclusive teaching modalities ("Domanda per Modalità Didattiche Inclusive"), will have access to proper teaching material for self-studying. If requested, tutoring, integrative teaching activities, and dedicated meeting with the teacher (also online) can also be provided, with flexibility about the hours.

Assessment Methods
The final evaluation of the course will be obtained whtough an oral/written exam on the whole program of the course, during the official exam sessions. It is possible (to be agreed with the students) to perform in itinere test during the course. In case the in itinere tests will be succesfull, it will not be necessary to sustain the final exam.
Appropriate exam modalities are possible for students belonging to the cathegories of DSA ("Disturbi specifici dell'Apprendimento") and BES ("Bisogni Educativi Speciali").
