The course aims to teach students about methodologies and analysis tools suitable for interpreting, systematizing, engineering, and re-engineering different organizations' structures, processes, and operational mechanisms to manage process innovation. Using different theoretical frameworks as references, we will analyze innovation (particularly process innovation) as a primary intangible resource for addressing and promoting change and managing problem-solving. Specifically, innovation will be approached from the meso (company and/or team) and micro (individual) perspectives. At the end of the course, the student will have acquired: - a basic understanding of innovation paradigms - of indications of models for innovating one's competencies and the competencies of the team - of frameworks for innovating the business model and decision-making processes.

Teaching Methods

To complete the course, industry experts in leading national and international companies will be invited to testify. In addition, throughout the academic year, individual reception services run by the lecturer are available at the times indicated on the web pages (without the need to make a specific appointment) and are constantly updated. All slides will be made available as study materials on the KIRO platform during lectures.
Assessment Methods
The test is intended to ascertain the following: - the knowledge of the topics on the syllabus, with particular reference to their application and methodological aspects; - the ability to apply the logical schemes to the various organizational design problems presented; - the depth and breadth of knowledge gained; - the property of language; - the ability to use the techniques and tools covered in the course.
The final evaluation, which considers any activities (such as conducting case studies) carried out during the course, is expressed in 30ths. Students who have carried out the case will be awarded up to 3 points (in 30ths) based on the effort they have put into the in-depth study of the case. If the final grade is found to be sufficient (18/30 and above), these points can be added to it.
For non-attending students: Grading is based solely on a written exam.
The written exam consists of three open-ended questions, each worth 0 to 10 points. The final grade is obtained by adding up the points obtained by answering the three questions. The written exam for non-attending students is based on the course textbook, so it is important to thoroughly study it to perform well. The written exam for attending students is based on the materials discussed in class and is available on the course page on KIRO.
The program will cover the following topics: - Managing incremental and disruptive innovation - Introduction to process structure - Managing business and decision-making processes - The BPMN language - Innovation and digitization
