The course aims to provide the student with a foundational understanding of the role of information technology in businesses, the dynamics of digital transformation, emerging technologies, and opportunities enabled by the digitalization of business processes; the main focus is digital culture applied to professional services for businesses. The course also addresses the theme of Change Management, a key competence to enable the adoption of digital strategies, and all implications related to Cybersecurity. The course includes extensive discussion of business cases and practical tests through the use of the most innovative technologies. At the end of the course, the student will be able to recognize the opportunities for digitalization of processes on professional services to businesses and identify the most suitable digital solutions.

Introduction to the course; definitions, CIO role and organization, governance; evolution of infrastructures (mainframe, client server, cloud) and networks; business transformation and management systems; from individual computing to collaboration. Digital Transformation: business value, base technologies. Digital Sustainability - sustainable digitalization. Cybersecurity and Privacy: context, new threats, the role of the human factor, strategies and tools, the role of the CISO, GDPR. Keynote speaker: trends in Cybersecurity and Cybercrime. Change Management. Data Management: Data Science (theoretical basis). EXERCISE Alteryx, Tableau. Digital Methods: RPA (theoretical basis) and Appian. EXERCISE RPA. Case study.
