Course Objectives
The topics of the MeTID – Methodologies and techniques for digital business course touch the heart of the digital transformation that is revolutionizing the way companies operate. These are the reasons: 1) Strategic relevance for Business The course is part of the digital economy, highlighting the pervasive role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the modern business landscape. Understanding these technologies is essential to navigate and succeed in an increasingly digitalized market. It highlights the strategic importance of ICT not only for operational efficiency, but also as a key tool for innovation. For a future manager or entrepreneur, understanding how to exploit technology to create new business opportunities and improve processes is crucial. - Technology is no longer optional: It has become a strategic pillar for any type of business. - The topics covered (cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things) represent levers of innovation, differentiation and competitiveness. - Understanding how and when to use digital technologies is crucial to making informed and sustainable business decisions. 2) Skills for the Manager of the Future The course is designed to develop entrepreneurial and managerial skills in the digital age, providing the knowledge needed to communicate with technology developers and evaluate technological evolution. - The course forms a fundamental technological sensitivity for future managers and entrepreneurs. - It helps to communicate effectively with IT departments and evaluate technological investments with a critical and ROI-oriented spirit. - Training in team collaboration, simulating real dynamics between marketing, communication and digital strategy. - The mention of Information Governance and cybersecurity risks underlines the importance of data protection and security management, critical aspects for any modern company. 3) Opportunities and Employability - Knowledge of ICT technologies expands the range of professional opportunities, including in digital consultancy or innovation management roles. - The practical approach of the course (seminars, workshops, case studies) provides applied experience, useful for standing out in the job market. 4) Understanding the Digital Age - We live in a world where every company-customer interaction passes through digital platforms. Course Prerequisites
The prerequisites, not essential but certainly useful for a complete understanding of the topics of the course, are:
– minimal knowledge of the world of modern computers;

– but above all an interest in new technologies and their impact on modern society.

Teaching Methods
Lectures and classroom activities (Workshops). Furthermore, representatives of the corporate world are invited as "testimonials" to the lessons.
Assessment Methods
Oral examination The exam consists of an individual oral test, aimed at ascertaining the skills acquired in relation to the contents of the course. Students will be asked both to answer theoretical questions and to discuss case studies. The final evaluation (Score 0-30) is based on the degree of depth and understanding of the topics presented and, on the ability, to integrate the knowledge acquired during the course.

The course of Methodologies and techniques for digital business (MeTID) is for those interested in developing entrepreneurial and/or managerial skills to navigate the world of the digital economy to seize the opportunities it offers, for those who are curious about modern digital information technologies and practical activities.
As indicated in the title, the course talks about technologies for the digital economy and therefore: computers, hardware, software, applications, communication networks, IT architectures, the relationship between business and ICT.
These digital technologies (ICT) are constantly evolving and also the so-called "IT platforms" on which the applications used by businesses are based.
What are the components and IT architectures that have made the development of the digital revolution possible? What technologies are available today and can be used by businesses? What possible changes can be expected in the near future from new technologies that are still only in research centers today?
ICT has taken on an increasingly strategic role in companies, both as a necessary tool for the correct and efficient functioning of business processes and because it often becomes a tool for innovation. The opportunities offered by the digital world, however, require companies to be adequately equipped with technologies that could allow them to be seized.
The teaching of Methodologies and techniques for digital business (MeTID) has the purpose of:
– deepening knowledge of some of the ICT technologies and how they can contribute to business;
– therefore forming a sensitivity for the role of technology in the current reality of companies;
– providing the necessary skills to be able to dialogue with those who deal with developing the technological solutions necessary for companies;
– indicating some ways to evaluate the evolution of technologies.
