The objective of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge on the themes of development in the life cycle, integrating them with: a) the presentation of the research methodology, and b) the main theoretical orientations. At the end of the course, the student will be able to: a) know the typical development phases in the different domains of development (physical, cerebral, motor, cognitive and perceptive, social, emotional-relational, and moral). This knowledge will allow the student to identify potential atypical development times; b) know the main research methods c) know the main tests used to assess children's development

None.The course is in the first year.
Teaching Methods
Lectures will be given in the frontal mode and in presence.
For each CFU (20 hours) is expected 6 hours of teaching in DE delivery mode, i.e frontal teaching (content presentation via slides and videos) 14 hours of self-study on the texts of the course bibliography, on the slides provided and on the scientific articles indicated Meetings with the tutor for monitoring and self-evaluation of the knowledge acquired are scheduled To facilitate inclusive teaching, the teacher provides up to two hours of office hours per week, by appointment
Assessment Methods
The exam will take place in written form with closed questions on the topics presented in the manual and / or on the slides provided by the teacher during the course and uploaded to the download area. The student who refuses the vote is required to accept the last grade received.

The bibliography is identical for attending and non-attending students and consists of: 1) slides uploaded in KIRO 2) the following Psychology Development Manual: - Gillebrand, Lam, O'Donnel, Tallandini. Development Psychology. Pearson, 2019 (with video and flashcards online).
Contents
The course will focus on: i) the essential aspects of typical psychological development in a life span perspective, ii) the methodological aspects that support the current knowledge . The changes that occur during life will be presented taking into account some of the major theoretical approaches to the study of development. Course topics: -Main theoretical guidelines and assumptions in development psychology; -Research methods in development psychology; -Notes on physical and cerebral development in prenatal age and in childhood; -Perceptual and motor development; -Cognitive development; -Development of memory and intelligence; -Language development - Theory of mind development - Social development Emotional, relational and attachment development
The subjects of the course correspond with the research projects of the Laboratory of Intervention Study on Socio-Cognitive Development - LASC of the Course Dependence Department (http://psicologia.unipv.it/laboratori/lasc/163-lasc.html) .
