The course has one main goal and a set of secondary goals connected to it. The primary objective is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the ontological, epistemological, theoretical, and clinical-applicative foundations of the major approaches in cognitive psychotherapy. The secondary objectives aim to deepen students' knowledge of neuropsychological cognitive psychotherapy, supported by clinical examples and the analysis of videotaped psychotherapy sessions.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to: a) Understand the key approaches within the global landscape of cognitive psychotherapy; b) Understand the foundational ontological and epistemological principles that underpin each approach, even when they are not explicitly articulated; c) Recognize the significance of the psychotherapeutic process as a journey of self-transformation, which transcends the mere application of techniques or protocols.

Teaching Methods
The course is delivered through in-person lectures. For each credit (25 hours), the breakdown is as follows: 5 hours of content delivery (using slides, scientific papers, textbooks, etc.), 1 hour of interactive teaching (small group work, role-plays, and critical discussions in small groups), and 19 hours of independent study based on the course reading list and materials provided in class. There will also be meetings with a tutor to monitor progress and self-assess acquired knowledge. To ensure an inclusive learning environment, the lecturer offers up to two hours of office hours per week, available by appointment.
