Syllabus

Course Objectives

Objectives. The objective of this teaching is to learn how to administer, correct and interpret the main neuropsychological tests and the scales for evaluating the emotional and behavioral aspects used in the field of clinical neuropsychology. Expected learning outcomes. At the end of the course students will be able to: a) administer the main emotional-behavioral tests and questionnaires; b) correct and interpret the results obtained.

Course Prerequisites

Understanding the course topics requires students to possess the basic knowledge relating to neurocognitive disorders.

Teaching Methods

The course takes place through in-person lessons.

For each CFU (25 hours) there is:
2 hours of teaching in DE delivery mode (presentation of contents via slides, scientific papers and videos);
4 hours of interactive teaching - DI (guided exercises, small group work between peers, role-play, critical discussion in a small group on topics provided by the teacher);
19 hours of self-study on the material provided by the teacher.

Particular attention will be dedicated to the theme of evaluation, with the presentation of video and paper material (in the form of observations, questionnaires, interviews) aimed at providing the student with the tools to learn the methods, requirements and rationale of the different evaluation tools of the field of neuropsychology.

Assessment Methods

Frequency at least 80% of the lessons.
Learning test at the end of the course.

Material provided by the teacher (scientific articles, testing materials, etc.).

Contents

This course aims to investigate the cognitive, emotional and behavioral disorders and the psychiatric aspects most typically associated with the main neurological syndromes. In addition, the main tests and the main evaluation scales to investigate these deficits will be explain.

The contents of the "Complex behavioral disorders in neurological diseases" course will be addressed taking into consideration the ethical-deontological principles which, based on the specific theme, will be described in detail by the teacher, both from a theoretical point of view and with a direct connection to the activity practice (e.g. through the discussion of case examples).
