Syllabus

Course Objectives

The role of the graduate in physical education is to plan and manage
simple motor and sport activity programs for single subjects or for
groups.
In practice clinical condition of the subject, both physiological (age,
general health conditions) and pathological, in progress or previous, must
be evaluate, because they could represent a contraindication to the
proposed exercise.
The course aims to illustrate the main topics of orthopedics of childhood
and adulthood. In this way the proposed programs can be adapted to the
abilities of the subject. Furthermore, the information acquired should be
useful and effective in order to support the simple motor activity with any
more specific rehabilitation treatments.

Course Prerequisites

Considering the potential career opportunities, students of this course are required to possess or acquire adequate initial preparation in the following knowledge: human anatomy - histology, human physiology. In fact, the graduate in physical education may be a sports manager or sports kinesiologist, responsible for motor activity courses in gyms and sports centers. Its activity cannot be separated from the knowledge of those fundamental notions, in order to guarantee the user's well-being.

Teaching Methods

The lessons will be held in the presence with lectures, presentation and discussion of clinical cases. The lectures will be carried out with
power point presentations and are available to students in the section dedicated to teaching on the KIRO moodle platform.

Assessment Methods

The final test is written and focuses on the topics covered during the lessons.
The learning outcomes are verified through the administration of a questionnaire of 30 questions; the correct test will be awarded a score of 30: each correct answer is assigned the score: 1. The duration of the test is 1 hour: during the exam the use of notes, texts, telephone is not allowed. The teacher is available to clarify any doubts regarding the formulation / interpretation of the questions. The final evaluation of the integrated course, consisting of two modules, is the result of the average of the marks obtained in each module. The partial tests, if passed, are valid for one year.
