Syllabus
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, students should know how to:
- perform a clinical examination of the patient with diagnostic suspicion setting
- what are the most common instrumental tests supporting the clinical examination and what is their diagnostic significance
- for each of the morbid pictures know:
- what it is (definition)
- how important it is (epidemiology)
- why and how it occurs (etiology, pathophysiology)
- what the clinical and instrumental features are and how the diagnosis is made
- what it can lead to (natural history, complications)
- what to do and where (basics for therapy, home and hospital therapy)
- possible stages of the disease needing urgent intervention (how to recognize urgency, how to treat it)
- at what advanced stages surgical interventions are needed
- basics for the management of the heart and lung transplant patient.
- basics for the management of respiratory failure
- cross-cutting objectives: acquisition of critical sense in the evaluation of the respiratory patient
- acquisition of communication skills

Chest Anatomy, Elements of Fluid Physics and Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology
Teaching Methods
Lectures, integrative teaching activities. Formative internship and clinical case discussion.

The excess mark starting from a first decimal value greater than or equal to 0.5 (also with regard to the mark of 30/30 with honours). The second decimal is rounded up with the same rules In addition to checking the achievement of the educational objectives, the acquisition of specific language and critical skills will be evaluated
