Overview
Date/time interval
Secondo Semestre (02/03/2026 - 05/06/2026)
Syllabus
Course Objectives
1) Knowing the role of pathological anatomy within a modern integrated multidisciplinary diagnostic approach, enhancing the aspects related to both traditional histopathological examination and the application of the most recent ancillary diagnostic techniques, including immunomolecular test. 2) Knowing the main anatomical-pathological alterations of the organs and systems as a need to understand and explain the pathophysiology and clinical symptoms associated with the various diseases. 3) To be able to understand the anatomical-pathological reports, integrating them with the clinical, laboratory and radiological data, and to extrapolate the diagnostic and prognostic-predictive information useful for the most appropriate therapeutic choices.
Course Prerequisites
In order to be able to adequately address the pathological anatomy study and thus to undergo the examination, it is appropriate to have attended the courses and to have achieved the skills required to pass the exams of the first 4 years of the degree course, with particular reference to some fundamental teachings such as: a) Biology And genetics, b) Histology, c) Human anatomy, d) Human physiology, e) Immunology and general pathology, f) Microbiology, g) Diagnostic of images, h) Blood diseases
Teaching Methods
Lectures, case studies on diagnostic samples. Professors are available for clarification on the topics of the program.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam with multiple questions aimed at ascertaining the knowledge acquired on the anatomo-pathological features of the different pathologies in correlation with clinical, semeiological and laboratory-instrumental data and the ability to critically interpret the meaning of ancillary and molecular examinations in the diagnostic context. The assessment will also take into account the ability to communicate and use an appropriate scientific language.
