The course aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts governing the structure, properties, processing, and applications of biomaterials and nanomaterials. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental principles underlying the design, synthesis, properties, and performance of biomaterials and nanomaterials. • identify the relationships between material structure, processing, properties and applications. • critically evaluate the suitability of different classes of biomaterials for specific biological applications, considering their advantages, limitations, and performance.

Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of general chemistry and physical chemistry.
