Abstract:
The paper elaborates a classification of self-referring sentences and discusses the meaningfulness of the sentence 'What I am hereby asserting is true'. In conclusion, the paper argues for the meaninglessness of that sentence, on the ground of a Wittgensteinian truth-conditions approach.
