Abstract:
Starting from the evolution of the concepts of space and boundary, we suggest that our individual and collective mental representation of the world – more and more interpolated and mediated by the digital dimension – can be defined as a “cognitive-digital" geography. In fact, the circulation of information in the digital realm creates a map, unrelated to traditional geography, through which we build relationships, read the world and redraw the boundaries, at least in our perception. This article will investigate how this “cognitive- digital" geography can affect the construction of identities.
