Abstract:
The article deals with three passages of Dracontius’ Satisfactio. At v. 39
the readings of the manuscripts senex (D and V, here confirmed by palaeographical
evidence) and senior (V1) are taken into consideration; among the conjectures proposed by scholars and discussed in the article, sancti could be confirmed by a marginal note in V, and seems to fit better the reasoning a maiore ad minus. At v. 98 the
conjecture flans is preferable to the reading flens (V) as the comparison with the biblical reference texts confirms; moreover, the material meaning of the verb flare
seems to be deliberately opposed to its spiritual meaning, witnessed e.g. by Prud.,
apoth., 830-832. At v. 156 the reading alio (V), questioned by scholars, can be confirmed by a comparison with the scriptural texts.
