Development of critical skills in reading the texts and in public discussion of them. Openness to the development of interdisciplinary reflection.

Contents

The proposed course aims to introduce the epistemological problem of “prereflexive experience”, starting from the late Husserl (reflections on the antepredictive structures of knowledge and the concept of Lebenswelt or “life-world”) and late Wittgenstein (analysis of "common sense") in order to analyze the way in which this problem has been received in the last fifty years within the philosophy of psychiatry. The theoretical declinations of this approach to experience will be analyzed, in particular, in the texts of psychiatrists like Ludwig Binswanger, Wolfgang Blankenburg, and Giovanni Stanghellini, whose clinical reflections focus on the loss that occurs, in certain psychopathological forms, of the natural reference to life (“natural evidence”) or “common sense.”
