The course gives the opportunity to learn about the fundamental characteristics of macroeconomics for the developing world. At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the complexity of economic development and the deep factors behind growth, wealth, inequality and sustainability.
Prerequisiti
Good knowledge of macroeconomics, basic knowledge of microeconomics, mathematics, statistics.

Lectures on: macroeconomics and less developed countries; role of institutions in development; development indicators at global level; long-term supply-side models: classical theory, exogenous growth models, endogenous growth models; short- term demand-side models; long term and short term growth in developing countries; specific macroeconomic problems faced by developing countries and current macro policies. Seminars on sustainable development: inequality and extreme poverty; planetary boundaries; social inclusion, education and health; food security; resilient cities; climate change, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
