The course is aimed providing key concepts and basic tools of economics needed for understanding how economic systems work especially in presence of market failures.
Prerequisiti
No specific prerequisites are required: logical skills and basic mathematical knowledge acquired in upper secondary school, are sufficient. Some basic elements of math will be revised at the beginning of the course.

The course offers ex-cathedra lectures, excercies and other teaching activities aimed to prepare and successfully pass the exam.

The exam is written and includes multiple choice questions and exercises.

Contenuti
The course will provide basic principles of microeconomics, including: consumer choices; decisions production and costs of production; demand and supply curves and market equilibrium; competitive markets; monopolistic competition; monopoly and oligopoly; employment and pricing of inputs; market failures and asymmetric information.
