Expected learning outcomes are the ability to use coins as a source in an archaeological and historical analysis.
Course Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Roman History
Teaching Methods
Part of the course will be lectured. Materials will be available on Kiro or given in class. The knowledge of ancient and modern sources presented in class are part of the exam, therefore also those who will not be able to attend lessons are required to read and study them.
Other classes will be dedicated to students’ presentations of coins.
Materials of the presentations are chosen by students among those proposed by the teacher.
A field trip to the Civico Gabinetto Numismatico di Milano will be also proposed to all the students.
Assessment Methods
Presentation in class of a case study (50% of the final mark); oral exam (50% of the final mark).
