Provide the basic knowledge required to complete the program and possibly the master thesis in astrophysics. Provide the required background to be able to read the relevant scientific literature.
Course Prerequisites
Having followed the course of introduction to astronomy.
Teaching Methods
Class room teaching with the help of slides. The course is available on youtube through the Kiro platform.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam. The student is invited to prepare a topic of his/her choice. Then, other questions on the material presented in the course follow for a total time of 40-45 minutes.

The program includes a detailed description of cosmic ray physics, of gamma rays e of cosmic neutrinos including the historical development and the modern experiments. It includes also a discussion of the astrophysical effects of dark matter and an introduction to gravitational wave physics and to its experiments.
