LO1. Knowledge and Understanding 1. Describe the role of pathological anatomy in the diagnosis and classification of haematological neoplasms. 2. Explain the histopathological, immunophenotypic, and molecular basis underlying the classification of common haematological malignancies. LO2. Applying Knowledge and Understanding 3. Recognise the principal histopathological features and diagnostic criteria of common haematological neoplasms. LO3. Making Judgements 4. Integrate pathological findings with clinical and laboratory information to appreciate their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic significance. LO4. Communication Skills 5. Interpret and communicate key findings from haematopathology reports using appropriate pathological and medical terminology.

Metodi didattici
Teaching methods include lectures, discussion of clinical cases, guided independent study, and use of the e-learning platform. Lectures provide the theoretical foundations of haematopathology and its integration with clinical haematology and haematologic oncology, supporting the acquisition of knowledge related to disease classification, diagnostic techniques, and pathological interpretation (LO1–LO2).Interactive clinical case discussions support the application of knowledge to diagnostic scenarios, interpretation of laboratory and pathological findings, and the integration of clinical information for diagnostic reasoning (LO3–LO4). Discussion activities and examination preparation support the communication of haematological concepts and clinical findings using appropriate medical terminology (LO5).

Contenuti
The module introduces the role of pathological anatomy in the multidisciplinary diagnosis of haematological diseases, with particular emphasis on haematological malignancies. The programme covers the classification of lymphoproliferative disorders, general principles of clinicopathological correlation, histogenesis and molecular basis of lymphoid neoplasms and the role of histopathological examination and ancillary diagnostic techniques, including immunohistochemistry and molecular testing. Specific topics include Hodgkin lymphoma, including classification, histopathological features and molecular pathology and peripheral B-cell lymphomas, including chronic lymphocytic leukaemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The module also addresses the interpretation of anatomical pathology reports and the integration of pathological findings with clinical, laboratory and radiological data to support diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic decision-making.
