The course aims to give students a detailed knowledge of the specific operational processes of the pharmacy (purchasing, sales, pricing, inventory management). In particular, the theoretical parts will be offered activities based on the use of pharmacy management information systems.
Course Prerequisites
Students on this course are required to have adequate preparation regarding pharmaceutical legislation.
Teaching Methods
On-line classes and guided case history solution based on the use of pharmacy information systems. For students with specific needs who are unable to attend educational activities in person and have applied for Inclusive Learning Modes, suitable educational materials will be made available for effective independent study. If requested, self-learning can be supported by tutoring or supplementary teaching activities, as well as dedicated meetings, including online, with flexible scheduling according to individual needs.
Assessment Methods
On-line written test with closed/open answers for each of the 4 modules. Tailored examination procedures are implemented for students classified under Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), in accordance with applicable regulations and institutional guidelines.

1 - The databases: information contained, search methods, analysis of updates. 2 - The sales cycle: management of sales in the pharmacy, definition of prices, issuing accounting documents in the pharmacy. Management of new pharmacy services. 3 – Supplies to the pharmacy: supplies to intermediate distribution and companies. Order management and management system support. 4 – Management and control of stocks in the pharmacy: warehouse efficiency indicators, management automation for stock optimization.
