At the successful conclusion of this module, you should be able to demonstrate the following module level learning outcomes (MLOs):
MLO.1 Knowledge & Understanding • Describe gametogenesis, early embryonic development, and implantation. • Explain germ layer formation, embryo annexes, and organogenesis. • Summarize morphogenetic processes and developmental interactions. MLO.2 Application of Knowledge • Identify stages of early development in diagrams or schematics. • Apply embryological knowledge to explain developmental events and organ formation. MLO.3 Autonomy of Judgement • Distinguish normal developmental stages from atypical or variant presentations. • Select appropriate explanations for observed embryonic structures. MLO.4 Learning Skills • Use learning resources to reinforce embryology understanding. • Integrate embryology with cytology and histology for understanding tissue and organ formation.

Metodi didattici
Teaching methods include lectures, discussion and guided independent study. Lectures present key concepts (supports LO.1, LO.2) and include interactive discussion of clinical areas and research themes (supports LO.2-3). Teaching will include guidance to help you prepare for the exam (supports LO.5) and throughout you will be presented with references to further readings and other materials on the e-learning platform to support your development (supports LO.5).
Teaching on this course is enhanced by our visiting Professors, international experts, who will provide seminars on clinical and research areas (LO.3).
